I think Los Gigantes is definitely worth at least a day trip. The cliffs of Los Gigantes are absolutely stunning, especially if you enjoy the view from the water on a boat trip.
Should you choose Los Gigantes as your base and spend your holiday here?
The answer depends on your preferences.If you are looking for a quiet resort away from the touristy hustle and bustle, then Los Gigantes will appeal to you.
If you are looking for a warm resort, with guaranteed good weather without rain even in winter, then Los Gigantes is the best choice. As the resort of Los Gigantes is located on the west coast of Tenerife, which is considered to be the warmest, and is sheltered from the winds by the cliffs, Los Gigantes is considered to be the warmest place on the whole island.
The resort is located away from the tourist triangle Costa Adeje – Los Cristianos – Playa de las Americas, where most tourists prefer to spend their holidays.
Here it is much calmer and cosier, there is no urban bustle and high-rise hotels.

The beach at Los Gigantes Resort is named Playa de los Guios, but most travellers refer to it simply as Los Gigantes Beach.
The beach at Los Gigantes is relatively small and has black volcanic sand. It is not the size of the beach that attracts travellers, but the beauty of the cliffs surrounding the beach.
Playa de los Guillos is also famous for having the warmest water in Tenerife. Standing in the water under the scorching sun, the 500 metre high cliffs release heat into the ocean and protect the beach from the wind. That’s why on Los Gigantes beach the water is always a few degrees warmer than everywhere else in Tenerife.
The beach is clean with soft sand. You can hire sunbeds.
There is a cafe near the beach and a harbour where you can buy boat trips with dolphin and whale watching.
There are showers and free toilets on the beach.
Los Gigantes beach is shaded by rocks until lunchtime, so you can get by without hiring umbrellas if you like to go to the beach in the morning.

In general, the development in the resort is low-rise, and every visitor tries to find and book an apartment, this is the specifics of the resort.
